How CipherPass Works

Client-Side Only Processing

All password generation happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your master key and identifiers are processed on your device using the SHA-256 algorithm. No data ever leaves your browser.

No Server Communication

CipherPass extension doesn't communicate with any external servers for password generation. The only communication is for downloading the extension from Chrome Web Store.

Limited Data Collection

Website Analytics (Optional)

Our website (cypherpass.me) may use Google Analytics for basic usage statistics (page views, country-level location). This helps us improve our website. You can opt out using browser settings or ad blockers.

Chrome Web Store Data

Google may collect basic extension usage data (install/uninstall statistics) through Chrome Web Store. This is handled by Google's privacy policy, not ours.

Data Security

Since we don't collect any personal data, there's no risk of data breaches or unauthorized access to your passwords. Your master key exists only in your memory and temporarily in your browser's memory during password generation.
